CB928.1: Rarity of intelligence.
Legacy route: /indexcc/CB/CB928_1.html · Source: indexcc/CB/CB928_1.html
Claim CB928.1:
If human intelligence is beneficial, why have other apes not evolved
anything equivalent?
Response:
A trait that is beneficial to one organism is not
necessarily
beneficial to another . Other life shows that intelligence is not
necessary to survive and thrive. Human intelligence in particular is
energetically costly. Other apes may simply be better off without it.
